2nd is too high for everything darnold has shown so far. Maybe a 3rd now future second if he can do something. This QB bubble is going burst bad.

This was the same rationale I used that year the team had Everett brown instead of a first. He wasn't even a panther next draft.

Yup, shit in looking at who might be available at 40 it kinda seems like it will need to be a project OL or LB for carolina. .. unless they wanted to pick Trask ? Frankly i think Darnold would be a smarter more immediately helpful addition

I think he will be a real difference maker for whoever picks him.

    Big talent.

Trading for Darnold and then sorting the o-line as much as possible with draft picks certainly isn't the worst idea.

Just saw a mock from Zierlein with Carolina taking Slater at #8. Works for me.

Have been looking into Darnold more (and even watching clips). I think presidence99 is right . .. 3rd now and future conditional (maybe just another 3rd at most).

This (from NFL.com) spells it out pretty well:

    >>>>>“No nfl QB with more than 110 pass attempts had a lower passer rating (72.7). Darnold did however lead his team to late wins over the Rams and the Browns”<<<<<

ONLY because of those two W’s vs playoff teams is he worth even considering now IMO. I still prefer the much cheaper option of Brissett for 2021 until a longer term leader can be acquired in the offseason after 2021

Darnold’s ceiling is a lot higher than Brisset’s

    ceiling shmeiling
think of it this way. .. what % of most people’s lives have to do with the floor, and what % have to do with the ceiling?

I hope the carolina staff signs players based on how they’ve played and currently play, not some assumption of future possibilities
