    I understand.
Lets hope whoever is chosen in the first will have more of a Luke career than a Rae-Rae.

That is the upside to Hurney running the draft. Our first rounders are generally pretty good under him.

Who here thinks a QB in the 1st is a possibility for Carolina?

The way I see it there could be SIX QBs drafted in the 1st rd, most of them in the top half.

There could be 9 or 10 teams drafting in the top 16 picks that could be desperate enough to spend their top pick on a possible franchise QB. Will Carolina be one of them?

The talking heads seem to think that at least 3 or 4 of the below are possible elites.

    Lawrence

    Fields

    Wilson

    Trask

    Lance

    Jones

The Jets will take Lawrence because everyone is saying they will. Fields, or possibly even FL boy Trask could go to Jacksonville. Washington will take a QB because they are apparently not sold on Haskins. Who knows what the Lions will do. .. I’ve heard rumblings about them wanting Stafford’s successor. If Denver was smart they would draft one of the QBs above because Lock is not going to ever be a solid starter. The Pats “might” go for a QB if Belichick gets a Bradyish scent from any left where they pick in the 1st. SF might roll the dice and the Bears could definitely take a QB. Then there are a few teams drafting later that could burn a 1st on a possible successor to a HOF QB.
I personally hope that Carolina goes ALL D again and maybe if a few QBs do go before they pick around 10 then they will avoid joining in on a “run on overhyped QBs”!

I would be pretty surprised if Trask went 2nd to the Jags. That will most likely be Fields, and then the question is who do the teams from 4-10 value the most among Trask, Lance, and Wilson? Right now Wilson is getting all the buzz, but Lance is talked about as having the highest ceiling.

Washington almost has to take a QB. In the top 10, you will also potentially see Denver, who probably thinks it's time the Drew Lock experiment ended. Those two will probably take Wilson and Trance, although I have no idea who goes first.

I think Trask goes later in the first round. He's good, but he's not mobile and teams are putting a premium on that nowadays. Jones will sneak into the late first so a team will be able to have him on a fifth year option. The 49ers, Colts, Bears, and Patriots are the teams to watch for those two.

Carolina could be a player, but I would prefer that we wait until next year. The QB class will be deep, and we still need a solid press corner and a MLB. If we're on the clock at 9 and Parsons, Wilson, and Trance are all available (not happening) I would want is to tap Parsons. If he's not there, either of Surtain or Farley.

Of the QBs that we could choose from, I like Wilson the most but hate to make the investment in his shoulder. If he is the guy and we can get him toughened up for the NFL, he may likely have the best career in this class. Lance is going to be another Wentz, IMO.

For the posters above that think the Broncos will take a QB: you don't know John Elway. Remember he was all set to pay Osweiler before the Texans went extra retard and paid him even more.

To be fair, in the limited sample size they had of him actually playing, Brock looked like he was going to be Manning's heir apparent.

Same sample size that got him benched for manning in the playoffs. Pretty clear where the coaches and GM (that drafted him before hiring said coach) split on this one.

If Trask keeps it up and looks good enough Vs bama then he will climb and Jacksonville has apparently already expressed interest.
As for Wilson I say No thanks. Remember Kellen Moore. .. I think they will share similar NFL fates. Besides Wilson looks a little too much like Jimmy Clausen to me. )

Fields looks like the solid #2 in the draft, but maybe the combine will shake things up.

I really think Trask ends up in the middle of the first. 20 years ago he would have been in consideration for the top pick, but he's just not mobile enough to thrive in the NFL right now.

completely disagree with you about Trask. ..
Only 10 sacks has he taken, 2 today but Vols were completely selling out to get any pressure that they did get.
You don’t HAVE to be a running QB to lead a current NFL franchise to winning seasons. .. just ask Brady, Breeze, and Big Rape. Trask makes quick reads, smart decisions, and accurate throws. Running is for guys like cam, jackson and griffin who ain’t so hot at the above.
Trask will be this years Burrow before it’s all over. He will be THE best NFL QB of this draft.
A few years from now PLEASE bump this because I’m the only one seeing it.
