I really don’t think that the following is debatable, at least not logically.
Carolina obviously chose a future with bridgewater instead of Newton. Why wasn’t that sound logic?
Who here thinks belichick & Co would not have taken teddy instead of cam for what they are paying?
Carolina made a smart decision in my opinion. .. so did the pats, and so did teddy and cam.
All things considered it all makes sense to me.

Cam can recover from injuries and still be one of the best QBs in the league. Teddy is unlikely to reach that level.

    It's definitely debatable.

It's easy to forget that Bridgewater suffered a serious knee injury and hasn't been a starting quarterback in five years.

The problem with that statement is that there is no solid proof that cam can come back from his injuries is there?
So, it’s a bigger gamble on cam, and more logical to go with a guy who has rehabbed isn’t it? Would YOU have paid cam what he and bus would have demanded (for say the next three years) to stay a panther? That’s a big dice roll

not forgetting that at all. .. I brought it up first post. Has that knee (that teddy has rehabbed) affected him significantly as a passer?
More likely that cams shoulder injury WILL affect him as a passer, or does that not make sense? Cam’s potential greatness is largely based on the whole “duel threat” aspect. His window on that is closed. Bridgewater’s window is still open.

Bridgewater is a better passer and makes quicker decisions. But he's not going to run a lot and do flips into the end zone. He is somewhat nimble in the pocket.

Bridgewater is not a long term solution, but could be a very good future #2, and prolly will wherever he is.

Cam's not a long term solution playing his game, unless somebody is able to change his game successfully. I don't think our staff could ever do that. The pats may can. We'll see. He'll be out of the league before becoming a #2 for any length of time. He's not going to last much longer running, and who knows about his shoulder/passing. If there weren't questions, someone would have signed him immediately. The pats could possible have gotten a deal, but the jury's still out.

Is there solid proof that Teddy will maintain his play from last year?

Not if you think Cam can recover. You're taking the safer bet in Teddy performance wise but I'm okay with taking a bigger gamble in this case.

You mention this in almost every Cam thread do you have some inside info on what Cam and bus were asking the panthers? were they demanding 60 million a year?

Agreed. I think they're hoping Bridgewater can keep the team from totally bottoming out while they find a star QB to draft- basically the Smith/Mahomes scenario.

I actually think that the above pretty much sums up the situation.
What made cam one of the best QB’s in the league (or at least one of the most feared) was the “I’m Super Man” attitude he had. For not much longer than the span teddy started for NO cam was making good choices and passing well, consistently. Most of the rest was that invulnerable sacrificial flip into the end zone King Bull stuff. The year after his MVP crown he got gang-Lex Luthered by the entire league and deevolved to just plain Clark Kent. I loved Super Man too, but he’s dead. I wish cam all the best but I will not be pulling for NE to EVER play in one more SB. Best case to me is that some team that I do not hate will pick up cam for 2021 and pay him well enough to take great care of the 18 children that he will eventually bring into the world. )
