It's not like cam has the greatest pocket presence and never fumbles there. He doesn't fumble much while running downfield tho.

But he throws a ton of INTs generally though. So there's a trade off there.

This post is a head scratcher. Prior to Cam’s shoulder injury last year, he had thrown a grand total of four interceptions (in eight games) and countered that with 15 TD passes and four TDs rushing.

We have to stop giving Kyle a pass on these fumbles because he doesn’t throw interceptions. A turnover is a turnover. And several of his were no one’s fault but his. In three games he has fumbled SIX times. Another one this past Sunday was nullified by a penalty.

I'm not giving Allen any passes.

And a hobbling, shoulder-less, overthrowing cam shouldn't either.

And his clown act definitely shouldn't either, regardless.

I absolutely hope cam gets healthy and again, becomes the best qb the panthers have ever had.

Right now, a 3-0 Allen makes me pretty happy. It could be terribly worse and I'm very glad it's not.

Yeah, I think Cam can be a decent "game manager" when he comes back, which may be all we need.

He already is the best QB the Panthers have ever had. And it’s really not all that close. Perhaps your definition of ‘tons’ of interceptions is different than mine. But even when he was playing hurt (which has been quite a bit since late in 2016) he doesn’t throw them at a rate of two a game.

That’s pretty much what he was in the first eight games of last year. Which is plenty. But I’m afraid (in my opinion of course) he’s not going to play another snap this year.

Yes he is, that's not really debatable as a perception.

Seems it's been a ton of Ints over the past few years - since 2015 season about 0.96 per game played, but also considering he only threw 1.44 TDs per game during that span. However, when you add in the 0.33 TDs rushing per game, it says his legs made his lack of passing greatness, much much better. His compl. % over that time is right at 60%.

Take away his rushing prowess, and he's not the greatest in the league.

Delhomme over his seven seasons had that same compl %, 1.32 pass TDs per game and nearly the same Ints per game at 0.98. We all biotched about those numbers every week.

Delhomme was undrafted, didn't cost bazzillions and took us to a SB and two championship games - three years in the playoffs.

The biggest difference was rushing. Newton over eight years took us to four years worth of playoffs, one championship game and lost a SB. That's only one more year of playoffs in one more year played than delhomme.

Yet just numbers wise, one could debate it, but as you say, "it's not even close".

Which some could say is a head scratcher as well. But we know it's not really, sometimes current perception drives our opinions.

He just hasn't seemed all that great over the past two + years. Regardless of injuries which have ailed him for a while now.

YET, I damn sure would rather have cam newton, healthy, on the field every game as long as he can do it. Even if his pressers are embarrassing clown shows.

if you are right and he doesn't play another snap this year then (in my opinion) Cam would be done as a Panther

Cam is the best quarterback in the league. If the Panthers offence would of done a better job protecting him they would of had many Superbowl wins. Don't blame the Quarterback.
