My son is going to bring over his beekeeper getup tomorrow. I'm gonna dig the fuckers up and stomp them with impunity

Now that's how you do it professionally. Nice work.

Day two, had to swap out batteries after the morning fun, am surprised that there are this many since then (I cleaned it off before putting it back out, twice now).

Are those coming in or going out?

That's a pretty large nest, obviously.

Trying to get in. It does seem to be a big nest, but that doesn't take too terribly long to happen. We let this bed go this year because I am pretty much redoing everything, so they've had all summer to spread.

I lay the zapper down about 10 feet from the nest and then throw a spool of string that's tied to it across, make my way over there, and slowly drag it across the top of the next. It starts collecting corpses almost immediately.

Right now it's been going for a few hours, and I'm watching it to see if it's still killing them. If it isn't, then it's time to replace the batteries again. This is the third pair, I wish I had a zapper that took C or D cells.

    Impressive

Do the bees just crawl over it trying to get in when the batteries are dead?

Pretty much. I drag it about 20 feet away and give it a bit for them all to depart. Those that don’t get sprayed.

    Then post it if possible.

Day three. Obviously I have put a huge dent in the colony. I hear more sparks about them trying to get out than I see them trying to get in.
