Jordan Scarlett had a couple good runs, he was the best back we sent out there. May be the only real winner out of that mess we saw. Heinicke was the best QB, and it wasn't close, so he at least has some tape to send around the league when he gets cut so we can keep Grier.

I'm not sure Holyfield will make it to the practice squad. If we cut him hoping to stash him there, he's gone. Nice to see that he made the most of his receiving opportunities.

Godwin didn't hurt himself at all. Still think he's the 6th receiver.

Our backup ILBs were awful. I also felt like we lined up in a 4-3 front a lot, which helped Obada. Looking forward to Moose/B&B's take on that because they pay more attention than I do.

Can we cut Torrey Smith yet?

I'm confounded this morning, because I can't think of a single player who matters (a player who will make the team and play during the season) who had a good night.

Unless Grier makes notable strides, I hope you’re wrong about him and TH.

That was just our 4-2 nickle. There's a little too much being made of this 3-4 shit. It's the same system we've always run. Ron just wants our base D to be better at setting the edge, which is the main benefit of a 3-4.

They invested a third round pick in him. They’re going to keep him for at least his rookie year.

This is why I’m looking forward to your analysis, or your brothers. You guys pay more attention to that stuff than I do, maybe I’ll learn something.

In a meritocratic world, the only QB "competition", if you can even call it one, is between Allen and Heineken. Grier is in last place by a wide margin. However, this is the NFL, where PR and politics play a major role in decision making, so we're probably stuck with the abomination wearing #3 as our primary backup to Cam Newton.

I don’t think he’ll be primary, but he will get a roster spot he does t deserve

The pick six was bad but that dropped pick where we got our first FG was just as damn bad. He never fucking saw that DB. Before he ever cocked his arm I was like don’t do it don’t do it. Damned if he didn’t.

He’s a 3rd rounder feel good local kid story so he’s gonna be on the 53 but damn I don’t want to let Heinke go.

It's rare to keep three quarterbacks, unless you have Joe Webb, and trotting out Grier in street clothes is the same as admitting failure. It would take a ton of humility by management. I think it's more likely that Grier will be QB #2, and everyone will cross their fingers in the hope that he never sees the field in a regular season game.
