I was going to name the site “Fred Smoot’s Father”, but I realized 90% of the current fanbase have no idea what the fuck that means.

A play on street signs is always clever. You could call it Mint & Moorehead. You could be more generic and call it One Panther Place.

Or, come up with a good portmanteau (word combo) relevant to the Panthers. Those are trendy, easy to remember, and I'm not aware of any that exist in the Panthers blogosphere. It would be a good way to stand out.

It's not easy to think of a good Panthers Portmanteau off the top of my head. It should not be too inside baseball. It should be a mainstream reference that all fans will get. Otherwise, nobody will read it and you'll just be a crazy person blogging to himself.

It you can get the right portmanteau, that's probably the winning ticket.

    It’ll have a heavy emphasis on history/legacy.

I'd just recommend a title that will cast a wide net. Something catchy and mainstream. You might have to lower your standards a little. But then, just be yourself in the content. Just be the Bull Moose once you have the hook. The title is just all about marketing. I'm not quite sure if historical references are the right play.

Or you could just call it Daryl Williams Fucks Your Little White Wife. And then just see what happens.

How do you buy the domain without the name?
