The Observer reported the contract to be for 1.2 million over 5 years. 240,000 a year. I wonder if he got a singing bonus and incentive clauses based on ratings.

 

No just BBQ for life. Thank goodness for Sporting News Radio. Packman is no better than the fabulous sports babe. (remember her?) He is spoon fed guest and doesn't know shit about sports. Get rid of QCB and Seed and start talking seriously. I mean does Charlotte really need another version of John Boy and Billy?

 

That's a lot of moolah for a 5kW station in a market in the low 20s in size nationally. Good for him, he must be doing something right, and seems to have a lot of fun doing it.

When he does Primetime in the ACC and it's just him, it's decent, actually good, but the rotating gang of media types and ex-pro athletes and house idiots is hard to listen to.

Now, if there was ever any (non-XM) competition.....

 

In today's local fishwrap, it was revealed that Packman received a $1.2 million/5 year deal . . . Man, that's a lot of BUBBA'S BBQ PLATTERS !!!!!!!!! He also gets more power to syndicate the show to other markets AND possibly simulcast PRIMETIME on cable TV (i.e. remember when 1 hour of THE FABULOUS SPORTS BABE aired on ESPN2 a few years back). Since TIME WARNER Cable control most of the cable outlets in the Charlotte market, I would think he could get this done first (perhaps air the show on NEWS14 CAROLINA or on one of the digital channels).
