I agree that he's a better fit as the #2 scatback, but it has to be noted that Philadelphia has a better offensive line than Carolina. I do like that we have a ton of options on special teams.

 

Most nfl teams currently have a better oline, but that has nothing to do with being fast making plays in space and catching poorly thrown passes.

 

Yeah it does. Line play matters even more for smaller backs since they can't break tackles. I think he could function as a poor man's McCaffrey if we needed him to, but you're over-selling it for some reason.

 

Rake.

 

Barner has never caught more than nine passes in a season, so I'm not sure where Rake is getting his assessment about catching bad passes from. He's a punt returner who can back up the starting scatback. If everything goes well, he won't touch the ball more than a dozen times on offense in 2018.
