Linebackers

Pardon me if I missed the thread but in all the talk about the draft and free agency, I don't see much talk about linebackers. I look up at the banner on this page and I see Luke Keuchley, a great linebacker but one who's missed significant portions of two of the last three seasons with concussions, and Thomas Davis, a very good linebacker who just turned 34. Is anybody else worried?

I'm more worried about the outdated panther logo in the banner. Please fix that shit.

 

Shaq Thompson played better than I expected him to, and looks like he may be a viable long-term replacement for Thomas Davis. Kuechly is a much tougher issue because he's such an unknown. If he plays the next five years then spending #8 on Reuben Foster would look foolish. If he has another concussion this season and retires as a result, spending the #8 on Reuben Foster would look brilliant. Ultimately I expect the team to take a Klein replacement in the middle rounds and hope that Kuechly ends up being fine.

I wouldn't put it past TD to play until he's 40. He's not a normal human being.
