My initial inclination is to write off Cook for this offense because of his limited size, but he's been pretty good at gaining yards after contact so I should really watch film before making a definitive conclusion. Fournette's fit is about as obvious as it gets given that he's already played in a pro style offense with shitty run blocking. Stewart is a pretty good comparison, so I guess you hope that at least one of them is healthy every week. If he's there I probably take him just because I don't think this offense can succeed without restoring the rushing game.

I'm not sure the offense needs someone like fournette or jstew. We say that because we are accustomed to seeing stew struggle for every yard. It's great when it's working. the offense needs a talented rb if it wants to lean on the running game, not necessarily a 230lb rb. Cook could succceed in the offense nicely and add a dimension we haven't had in a while.

The exact opposite of what you said is true, as this offense only works with someone like Fournette or Stewart who is capable of creating yards even when the blocking fails. Cook excels when blocking allows him to get into one on one match-ups in open space, which this offensive line cannot do consistently. Cook would be best on a team that can spread out defenses and doesn't rely on a power running game.

I think we are biased because we have grown accustomed to our 235lb rb and fb grindingly it out. This year was particularly bad for the offensive line as they didn't create much room for anyone. If there was improved line play I think a talented rb could succeed. Another problem with the offense is that cam decided not to run anymore. The threat of him running is what the offense is kind of based on. Those slow ass developing run plays and pass plays used to work.

No, we've seen what happens when you put a shifty back like CAP in there. Cook is light years better, obviously, but it's simply difficult for a back like that to succeed behind a line that routinely allows penetration. He would be an asset in Carolina, but he's not as good a fit for this offense as Fournette.
