Having Fun

Ya know, after speaking with other fans, associates, family and whatnot, I've heard a general consensus as put together by myself of multiples of opinions.

The 'having fun' mantra that everybody on the team, players, coaches, etc., to me, has been sort of over the top this year. Many loved it, many didn't. Fan and enemy alike.

I mean, we/I understand they're having fun winning and such. But all the shit they've been doing: the celebrating, dancing, the dabbing, the picture taking on the sidelines, et al., which has been called into question as excesses by outsiders (though insiders have complained some) , actually has been over the top. It's almost as if when they say 'business as usual,' well, really hasn't been. They've been winning and all, but many think they really haven't been all that serious and because of that, when facing adversity, they can't hold it together. Sure, they beat up some, beat the shit out of same, and won most.

I'm not talking locker room antics or say, JR dabbing in the locker room or Cam/others dabbing or dancing some in celebration after a score or fist down antics are fine, imo. Heat of the moment, spur of the moment "we're having fun, get into it with us, Fans!" Hell that's all good stuff.

It's like in retrospect, though, they had too much fun all year and when the real biggest test came up, they couldn't handle it. Players and coaches alike.

Maybe I'm being to hard on them...

But the extra shit, over the top sideline pics and such (which obviously led to the Atlanta loss, as they claimed) is seen by many I've talked to (again, from real hard core fans to just observations of folk who were kinda proud of them as the home team, etc.) has taken on a life of kind of an embarrassment now, in retrospect (many claimed it before to a lesser degree) and some acts appear as sort of taunting and selfish- even if unintentional. They are professionals.

Anyway, I want them to have fun and I want them to win and have confidence and all. I guess I'd like to see more business-like, "been there, done that" attitudes more in the future (not stuffy, stiff too-serious-type shit), but a semblance of professionalism.

Heck, they win the SB, then they can dab and celebrate all they fuking want to, and we'll be doing it with them, for weeks...months....until the next season begins.

I wonder if the players and coaches all fully believed we were gonna just walk in there and beat the hell outa them like most media types and vegas predicted. Same thing happened in Atlanta. And we got punched on da mouf. Now they getting dabbed on in lots of ways, none to good. All that shit they've been doing is gonna come back to bite them in the ass if they keep doing it, imo. Kinda did yesterday. Now Cam's pouting like a little girl, sort of. I don't like it. Neither do many, hard core fan, half-assed bandwagon fan, bystander and media-type alike. And it's a shame after such a banner year.

 

The team lost because they fucking stunk yesterday. Don't out-think yourself.

 

There's also the harsh reality that we got dicked over by the officials. If the Cotchery play is correctly overturned, Denver is likely trailing in the fourth quarter instead of leading 16-10.

 

It's not like I'm overthinking anything. I thought some of these things already to a lesser degree. Hell, I've had numerous conversations about the subject all during the season with fellow fans of all degrees. More conversations than even during the 2003 season when there's more interest and more to talk about regarding our panthers.

Shit like what I'm talking about contributes to shit like getting dicked by officials and such.

 

Well the team won a lot. Winning is fun. It's no big deal.

 

Yep - We would have been in Denver territory instead on our 15 yard line.

Huge difference. Score wouldn't been 10-9 our way.

Also - the missed FG - Why wasn't Denver called for the offsides?

 

God I fucking forgot about that. There goes another three points.

Brutal.

 

I saw somewhere where an analyst looked at it and determined he was not offsides. Started before the ball was snapped but did not cross LOS pre snap.

If I had the game to look at, I doubt I would.

 

The Panthers were robbed by shitty calls and a lousy surface in the stadium. No fucking way they should of lost. So shut the fuck up idiot and go outside and get some fresh air.

 

I watched some of it again last night. The bits I saw didn't seem as bad as the live version.
