Allen is washed up, Purrsy. He isn't getting big money from anyone. He's only here because the other Panthers DEs are so laughably bad that even a washed-up Allen looks good by comparison.

    I agree.

But am I right that if he stays beyond this year we owe him a ton?

That won't happen, I know. Which is why I'm a little surprised we gave up a draft pick for a year rental.

I guess the DL is just that bad. You were right about Ealy, unfortunately.

Once he was traded he we can cut him without cap acceleration... so if the team wants the endless motor and he doesn't play ball in a restructure he can be cut harmlessly.

My bad, I see what you meant. Yes, his base salary for 2016 is $8.5 million but none of it is guaranteed so cutting him will cost nothing.

YEah. He's definitely better than anything we have there, but I'm just not sure I'm digging giving away a pick for a rental. We're not Superbowl ready, so Im not sure this makes sense.

Just hoping the corresponding roster move isn't CJ to IR.

we may not be superbowl ready but getting into the playoffs is worth a 6th rounder. it means a lot of extra $ for the organisation and a lot of fan happiness. a 6th rounder and 850k. for ja, its a no brainer.

LOL my gay nephew and a bunch of his friends are big into PBR wearing the jackets and belt buckles. Must be a Brokeback Mtn thing. No wonder Allen hates them.
