It is to some. Shoot, if I am good enough to earn a multi million deal, my family is set. And something else can get you way before the brain trouble becomes a major issue.

OTOH, if I am as good at baseball....

Well for me, I'm in too deep to say "fuck football". I love the game and always will. At the same time, I want parents and collegiate players to have all of this information so they can decide for themselves. If I had a son I'd probably try to steer him away from playing.

I started thinking about the players that donated their brains and figured guys with no problems would probably not have had the motivation.

Then I read the linked article until I reached this line

Apparently they started seriously studying the brains when guys with problems died and donated their bodies/brains to research. 2008 is that started as far as I can find out. Wiki.

These are guys who played during the older era before concussion protocols, extra padding hi tech head gear, moving the kickoff spot so that a whole bunch just go through the end zone now, stuff like that.

They'd really need to test guys that played in this new era to know better what the risks are to modern players. But I understand that the media will use the families of the old guys to fan the flames and get clicks.

That you play a game where you are having full speed head on contact would put you at risk of going loopy has been general knowledge for longer than anyone here has been alive. There are also plenty of guys who only ache from their old injuries, that are fine otherwise. As I said, I am in if I can make that money and live that life.

Apparently it has more to do with the accumulation of smaller hits than the big ones that happen more sporadically. You can't really take those out of the game unless you start playing flag football.

Also I want to make it clear that I don't even give a shit about the players health. I'm a sociopath who sees them as nothing more than cattle. I just wouldn't want my own son being part of the cattle. It's like a guy in the mafia who wants his kids to go to college.
