He really does make me long for the days of James Anderson at MLB.

He's a damn good player, but the fact that he has so many tackles is probably more of an indictment on the front four. I think Worrolow was 2nd in tackles and he's terrible. There are better ways to measure the impact of a linebacker.

All kidding aside, I realize tackle stats don't make the LB. I love Thomas Davis too, but I'm sick of him blowing assignments and missing tackles.

I'm just glad our guy is doing well with what he has to work with. But he's had some bad games this year already. Today wasn't one of them, despite the defense being awful.

Being the best player on this atrocious defense doesn't make you one of the league's best.

Yeah, could be a little like those Seifert years where Mike Minter was always leading the team in tackles.

No, but being voted DPOY by your peers does.

This D is struggling and its not all on Luke.

No, it most certainly does not. We noted how extensively Kuechly struggled in coverage last season, and multiple analytics sites documented how Luke's tackles numbers were inflated. Again, I've said all along that he's a very good player, but he is not yet great. He didn't deserve Defensive Rookie of the Year (Lavonte David and Bobby Wagner were both clearly better), and he didn't deserve Defensive Player of the Year either (Robert Quinn, J.J. Watt, Richard Sherman and others were clearly better choices).

    edit:
Also, DPotY isn't voted on by the players. It's by the Associated Press.
