Godfrey was equally useless as the outside safety. I understand you're playing force there and you don't want to abandon that, but he was literally just handfighting with his guy all the way down the field. Gano also whiffed but you can't really expect your kicker to bail you out.


Pretty amazing hustle by Jones though, not that it ultimately mattered but I appreciated that.

Yep, saw Godfrey get blocked too. He got blocked straight up. Godfrey is pretty fucking terrible. He doesn't belong in this scheme where he has more coverage responsibilities. He belongs more, ironically since Collin mentioned this, and I'm not saying it because of that - in a cover 3 where he can roam the sideline and help with the run and underneath zones. Less coverage. The guy is shit here. Shit in cover 2, cover 1, shit tackler too, so what the hell. He''s been horrible this year. Not sure why. He used to at least be solid.

Playing force or not, you've got to see that the inside has been compromised, and the runner isn't going to bail and get around you if you cheat inside. His help was on that side, so he just got handled. It's like everyone was expecting someone else to make a play. Not ok at all, man.
