To whom it may concern: Please go argument nuclear in a losing thread. This was one of the best games ever.

I had excellent coverage on Saints fans after the game. I was all over them.

Yeah, but you were 7 yards downfield.

Do you recall how many times we've argued over players or coaches and how you're always, always, always proven wrong over time and sometimes apologize later for saying something ridiculous? This is one of those cases. I even gave you specific examples of plays where Kuechly screwed up. I believe it's important as a fan to see beyond hype to analyze the positives and negatives. It's why I wasn't on the Cam hype train and why I pointed out Delhomme's flaws back when the team was still winning with him. Kuechly has been instrumental to the run defense but he continues to struggle in coverage and he definitely struggled against New Orleans.

No I don't. I do remember how you make shit up though.

Do you have NFL Rewind? Go watch every play. He had a stellar game. Great in coverage too.

Instead of pretending you know the finer details of the game so much so that you can laughingly say Keuchly had a terrible game in one of his best, why don't you create a thread detailing how he struggled and illustrate where.

I mean...he had an unbelievable game. Not only were you wrong, it turns out you just made it up to pretend you had some insight no one else had. You do that a lot.

According to ESPN, Luke allowed the following yardage on his tackles:

    Pass Tackles:
9 yards, 3 yards (first down allowed), 0 yards (assisted on Munnerlyn's tackle of the screen pass), 35 yards, 8 yards, 4 yards, 4 yards, 7 yards, 7 yards, -5 yards (blew up the screen pass on 3rd & long deep in NO's territory), and 13 yards (the option route I mentioned).

11 tackles, 7.7 average yards allowed. And aside from the interception he had no pass breakups in the game.

    Run Tackles:
5 yards (first down allowed), 2 yards (assisted on Davis' tackle), 0 yards, 6 yards (assisted on Mitchell's tackle), 0 yards (assisted on Davis' tackle), 9 yards (assisted on Florence's tackle), 3 yards (first down allowed), 3 yards, 7 yards (assisted on Davis' tackle), 3 yards, 6 yards, 1 yard, and 0 yards (assisted on Short's tackle).

11 tackles, 3.5 average yards allowed

You'll also notice a lot of assists on there, which is what inflates Luke's overall tackles totals. Last season when he was described as leading the NFL in tackles he was 7th in solo tackles (fellow rookie Lavonte David was 2nd in solo tackles and had far more tackles for loss). 37.6% of his total tackles were assists, which was one of the highest percentages in the league. That means he hustles to the play, which is nice, but assisted tackles really shouldn't be credited the same as solo tackles. In 2013 he's described as being third in the NFL for tackles, but is only 10th in solo tackles. 39.7% of his listed tackles are assisted.

Luke is instinctive and fun to watch. He blows up run plays and screen passes with regularity, but he's pretty hopeless in coverage and definitely not the elite defensive player the media is making him out to be. Someday, hopefully, but not yet. A lot of tackles in the passing game means you were targeted a lot because you were a weakness.

sorry to admit it but the guy is right . .. and that's the case more often than not. Apologies to those who get peeved with Collin (me too occasionally) but it's better not to get your panties in a wad. I used to waste my time and energy arguing crap with him too but it was mostly because I CHOSE to take completely unimportant shit on a message board personally. Why do it?

Just say NO to allowing yourselves to look like butt-hurt bitches
