    different situation… not headed into a lockout year dumping salaries

    Rivera can keep coaching like it could be his last… Seems to be working

    Teams very rarely go with lame duck head coaches. It's considered a bad environment, although players seem to deal with it. *shrug*

    Yeah, I both like the fact that he was willing to adjust and hate that fact that he had to be on the edge of losing his job to do so.

    And as noted repeatedly, the offense has been significantly worse this season without Chudzinski. I continue to worry about what will happen to the defense if McDermott gets a head coaching gig somewhere, which looks increasingly likely. Rivera has a defensive background, but this is McDermott's defense.

    My biggest concern is getting Brian Billick back for the stretch run. We've won a couple games without him but you don't want to keep pressing your luck. Unfortunately we don't have another Fox game until the New Orleans rematch. :worried:
