Catches and yards per target are more meaningful, sure. Doesn't change the fact that LaFell has some atrocious drops. He really needs to work on his concentration.

No, I guess getting chunks to help in efforts to move the chains means nothing.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

La Fell isn't better this year or any other year than Nicks. Nicks has simply been checked out and more mistake prone.

Giants have been playing from behind most of the year, so it figures that the yards would be up. Plus Nicks isn't marginalized in that offense the way LaFell is here. People still don't seem to get the fact that Olsen is our #2 receiver.

James Jones had the same problem, so it isn't entirely uncorrectable let's just hope he can fix it.

BTW why didn't we sign jones in FA a few years ago? Fuck you hurney

Nicks didn't suddenly catch the suck. He's checked out because he wants a new contract.

Obviously that's not a glowing assessment of him coming here, nor do I propose that happen. Just saying, if it did, there would be worse things. He's an annual 1000 yard receiver, and would've been just last year had he started all the games and didn't get injured.

Wasn't there a movement here a few years back saying Smitty sucked, had lost it, wasn't the same player too? Jesus Christ, fans are for the most part, fucking stupid.

That being said, like I said, this is more born from the fact that I just don't understand the dicksuck that LaFell gets here. He's kind of turned into the newest average player mascot that gets annually paraded around here. (I'm not harping on LaFell's drops, either. He's actually been remarkably solid when it comes to that, and every receiver will have his drops.)

It's kind of funny, and kind of sad.

LaFell isn't marginalized. He's had every opportunity to become more than what he's been to date, and it was just last year that we were accepting that he was able to pretty much fend off stalwart competition like Armanti Edwards, Kealoha Pilares, and David fucking Gettis...

He is who he is, and I'm glad we have him, but he's not going to take over when Smith retires, and he's not going to be a difference maker. He's going to help us win a few games here and there, and otherwise, he'll be invisible, because our TE is a better playmaker.

Already, some are touting the guy who San Fran wouldn't play (they have no receivers worth a shit pretty much) and others said is nothing but a punt returner, as the guy who should supplant him as the #2.

LaFell is fine, but he's just a guy.

Nicks is going through something fucked up, but he's a #1.

Whatever. It's not gonna happen, so it's pretty pointless. But to bash someone as an idiot for being on board with it, seems like a stretch.

edit - not Gettis last year, whoever the fuck that kid from the Raiders was...now on the Giants. Murphy or whatnot.

    Yeah. I know.

    Didn't catch it.

Ya know...I think it's the fact that some were calling for LaFell's head unjustifiably so, and so now he's become this motley little trophy here, that some desperately cling onto as a kind of out of left field way of....feeling smart.
