    I hate to say what has been said here many times, but Newton isn't smart enough to play well at this level. Poor decisions, forgetting very basic mechanics of throwing, etc.

    Being an athletic stud isn't enough at this level. He doesn't read defenses before the snap, he doesn't adjust on the fly, etc. You simply CANNOT turn the ball over so often in obvious scoring position.

    Rivera should sit him.

    You can win with dumb QBs, but you can't ask them to play like smart ones. Chudzinski knew how to play up Newton's strengths and hide his weaknesses.

    I like that we tried really hard to get the ball to Barner. I think that will be a key to our turnaround this season.
