    It's not a very complicated calculation. You compare the odds of not converting with the odds that the opposing offense reaching the current spot on the field. Teams could easily print that out for each opponent before the game.

    B&B kind of touches on it, if a coach does something unconventional and gets fired he rarely gets re-hired but if you stay on a sinking ship doing what 'football wisdom' says you get 100s of second chances. This is why Norv has had too many head coaching jobs and if chip kelly fails in the NFL it will likely be his last.

    We fail in that situation 4th and 2" situation, it looks really stupid. If we were behind and the clock was a factor, go for it no question.

    And before the half yeah it was something like 35 secs left and we may have had all three TOs, and we immediately picked up 10 or so. 30 yl neighbord, we needed maybe 35 yards for a reasonable fg try. It was really my only beef with Rivera in the game.

    It's kind of depressing that Rivera would have to win the next seven games just to be a .500 coach.

    You want chip Kelly? Don't you know that JR is do hard up for cash he had to beg the taxpayers for stadium upgrades? Now you expect him to pay for a second head coach so Rivera can go and coach linebackers in Dallas?
