    Rex Ryan has no intention of playing Geno Smith. I don't know why the media keeps acting like the Jets will be playing for the future when Ryan knows he has to win in order to keep his job. And don't be surprised if the Jets do just that. Sanchez hasn't always been terrible, and they did have a lot of injuries last season.

    Smith probably only plays if Rex gets fired in season, which I guess is possible, but I think the Jets will actually be competitive. I think it was Mel Kiper who called them a "glorified expansion team", which is pretty ridiculous.

    That's sorta been my concern with Smith doing "part time work" on WFNZ. He has done a pretty good job biting his lip on most of these things, but I was afraid eventually once he got too comfortable in the environment, he'd slip up and tell his true feelings about something that may spark talk in and of itself.
