Still trying to get my head around how that's going to work. Anderson was very good in those hybrid looks Rivera and McD like to go with. Hard to imagine Beason filling that role effectively, so maybe we'll see more pure 34 in those situations - perhaps kick Beason inside or just take him out - or maybe we'll go more conventional 43.

Either way, it feels like a shit idea.

LK and Davis were the LB's on 3rd down. Not too shabby.

Mike Mitchell is your blitz package guy.

My hope is that it's easier for Beason than WLB. My worry is that people didn't properly appreciate how well Anderson played a tough position and that Beason will make them aware of it.

Beason after the achilles, and wasn't all that great out of position before, so not real optimistic.

I think the key part of that equation is Beason regaining his athleticism and explosiveness. We all know he's a smart player. If you add his smarts and his former athleticism, I think he will be fine at SAM.

But I'm not holding my breath that he will.

It's a shot in the dark, at best. An expensive shot.

Yeah, I would rather have kept Anderson and made Beason a June 1st cut. He'll have to be cut sooner or later anyway.

I get all tingly inside watching those Beast highlights. I think people forget what he meant to us prior to the injuries. 3 time Pro Bowler, 569 tackles, 9 ints.

But did he just say the dreaded word microfracture?
