Would you really want to take the cap hit and maybe get a mid/late round pick? Is an obscure backup guard or TE really worth that trouble?

Just keep him and use him. It's the lesser of all evils.

I wouldn't mind it if they were tearing everything down to get out of cap hell, but they aren't.

I don't think it's a good idea to tear everything down from a business perspective anyway. It's probably the right thing to do from a pure football standpoint, but if they dumped all the dead weight this year, you don't even have the illusion of being semi-competitive. Therefore your stadium revenue is going to shit the bed all season long.

They're going to have to do it sometime, may as well take the hit now unless they think fans are going to be more sympathetic in 2 years.

Not a good time to do it, when you're trying to get all that stadium dough.

Im trying to make sense of this. I dont see how it could happen. And again, why the hell is Rivera chirping about it in public.

Unless they've already worked some kind of parameters already with Foxy in Denver or GB.

And in a year were looking to upgrade the Oline high in the draft and Shula and Gettle have insinuated a desire to get back to power running.

Not to mention Stew being absent half of the year and with the way 34 finished it. It doesnt make sense. Maybe they're leaning on 34 to take a pay cut.

I see Bradshaw is still out there, if somehow we save money this year, but how?

Wouldnt Beason be the guy you'd prefere off the books?
