Looking over the cap spreadsheet from that previous thread.

    Their are 3 huge albatroses:

    Beason, Gamble, Gross.

1.) Nothing you can do with Beason, stuck with him... Fuck You Hurney, pray Beas stays healthy and can contribute.

2.) Need to figure out a way to get Gross from (+-)$12m down to around $7m

3.) Need to figure out a way to get Gamble from (+-) $11m also down to around $7m.

Cuts: Garry Williams,David Gettis, Nakumura, Pilares, Anderson

Doing the above gets them down to around (+-) $119m

also have a number of other contracts ending in 2013 they could make for cuts to work with without much damage moving forward...

Edwards, Campbell, Dockery, Jason Williams, Austin,

Cutting Anderson only saves $200k, and it would cost more than that to fill his roster spot.

Also feel compelled to point out the TE's Hartsock, Barnidge, and Brockel and LB's Senn, and Philips are all FA's..

and looking at the potential cuts (I'm suggesting)

TE and OLB may be in play in the draft.

OLB might be a late pick for roster depth and special teams, but unless they get rid of Beason and/or TD then it's not really a need. I don't know anything about the middle round TEs in this draft but it would be great to have someone who can actually block.

That would be nice if we could get him as a late rounder.

Why cut Pilares? I know he's had his injuries and all but I thought he was decent.

Does cutting Gettis save us much, probably gets another look see in OTAs at least. Is he in the doghouse or what because year 1 was very promising. Its not like weve invested Davis money in him, wasnt he a 7th rounder?
