Telling people to look beyond the stats won't change the fact that he's an uninspiring hire and his best years appear to have come when he was playing the role of Ron Turner 2005-2009

Watching you attribute Tampa Bay's success to Shula's offense further validates the impression of you being a total idiot who knows nothing whatsoever about football and will say absolutely anything to avoid admitting that you're wrong.

Reading comprehension isnt your strong suit is it? I prefaced everything I said talking about Tampas D and its affects on the O.

Lets roll with that 2001 passing offense that had 13 TD's you mentioned.

Lets just ignore, their running game, the fact Dilfer, Dunn and Alstott (3 times) made the pro bowl under Shula.

So now not only is Tampa Bay's record evidence of Shula's SUCCESS!!!, but now Alstott and Dunn making Pro Bowls is evidence of that as well. By all means, keep posting. You're not making yourself look like a moron at all, I promise.

Tampa Bay were a running team. They were very good at it.

If they sucked at running the ball you would have a point.

Um because everyone here knows more than everyone and cam newton is the main reason because he throws off his back foot or someshit. Ignore all his success and dont ever give him credit for anything. Its his fault the defense sucked for 11/2 seasons, his fault his line couldnt block, his fault he didnt develop a legimate wr besides a peaked smith and a TE...man cam just sucks we would have been soooo much better if we drafted p. peterson and statted clausen...i dont know how people that supposedly like this team can be such assholes towards it. Nothing is good enough, everyƓnes a expert. Why arnt any of you motherfuckers running shit then?..exactly asshats

anywhere I lay my head I'm gonna call my home
    ideally.

I don't know. It's not what I would've done. The hope is, him being under Chud means mimicking some of what Chud did, but not all - that we might actually be more conservative at times, actually run the ball more. And that'll probably help.

I don't know what to say about stats - his Tampa stuff isn't ideal, but really none of it is other than the scoring abberation the year after Shula went. No offense in Tampa really did shit under Dungy. It did what it should - support its offense to a point, shield any of the too-green QBs that he trotted out there with a heavy running game and too little put into other skill spots.

So will shielding Cam more help? Seems like he got better with Shula's probably-hilarious drills of having DA and Pickles rush him. Seems like he'd get better simplifying just a bit. Chud did a fine job of tailoring to Cam's strengths (Cam apparently gets no credit for those strengths), but that doesn't have to go away (and Shula may be more in tune to what Cam does well, and less toward using ten variations of the same play*). Seems like a better run game paired with a surging defense might be back toward the style of football this team wants to play.

Or not. Who knows - I don't. But I'm not going to give up on the season five months before it starts. Rivera made this decision, and we knows what happens if it doesn't work.

*I like this, but there's no doubt that the Chuds and many, many other Coryell guys can overthink things

Tampa Bay's yards per rushing attempt:
    1996 - 28th
    1997 - 13th
    1998 - 10th
    1999 - 22nd

Do you really not know the difference between a "running team" and a "team that can't score"? The top five rushing teams this season all ranked 14th or better in points scored. Shula's Bucs teams finished 27th, 18th, 23rd, and 30th. Really, just stop posting before you make yourself look any worse. Clearly you know nothing, which would be fine if you actually realized that and acted accordingly. Instead you're a more articulate version of Thelt, consistently saying the most mind-blowingly stupid shit and being totally immune to any logic, facts, or statistics showing how completely and utterly wrong you always are.

    Yes.

Celt, Mike Shula never brought the offense to above the 22nd rated overall in the NFL in his four years there. They made the playoffs on Dungy's leadership and the defense's play. Being that they were digging deep into the playoffs, and they still fired him, tells me that he was identified as the guy who needed to be upgraded so they could get to the next level.

I have no problem with him as a QB coach. I would have no problem promoting from within, if it wasn't someone with a horrible track record, and if there wasn't someone far more qualified waiting in the wings (Jackson).

Hey. It's whatever. Rivera knows what's at stake, but I don't think it's as some say - playoffs or he's out. I don't think that at all. I think if we have a solid record, and we do some good things, he gets to stay. I think 9-7 and a playoff miss will be just fine for JR. But that's besides the point.

Pretty sure this fucks us for a while though. And why not give your fucking franchise player a real positions coach. That's unbelievably stupid.
