The fact that you (and most other people) aren't aware that Gettis is already back is indicative of what we can expect from him going forward.

I mean, you could hope that Gettis would be better than where he is now, in the future. I don't know that there's a reason he isn't/shouldn't be. I like the guy. But, it's weird.

Good if depressing post. I would quibble over Hangartner being a "hit" rather than "push," and I wouldn't say that Gross has been "worth every penny" even though he's clearly been solid enough to be in the hit category. Also, Evan Mathis is starting for the Eagles (or was the last time I bothered to look), so he shouldn't be listed as a bust even though it didn't work out here. I agree with you that there has been a lot of investment along the offensive line with questionable results. Even Gross & Kalil are merely above average as opposed to truly elite players at their position, which is what makes it worse that they're getting paid like elite players. The constant inability to find an adequate guard (aside from Wharton) is mind-boggling. How long has that turnstile at right guard been spinning?

    edit:
Also, it was incorrect to claim that Hurney front-loaded contract extensions. I addressed that another time you or someone else posted it, showing that Hurney's contracts are actually very heavily back-loaded, which is why the cap commitments for 2013, 2014, and 2015 are so incredibly heinous.

I had no idea that Will Montgomery was the starting center for Washington and arguably playing at a Pro Bowl level. Ugh.

Mathis is very highly reguarded in Phily and league wide. Recall reading an article earlier in the season grading players in the league. Evan was rated very highly and rated higher (about 20) than the highest Panther CJ (about 50).

Noticed Monty from the Skins game earlier in the season.

Berny has been the starting G in Dallas.

I wonder how Wharton would have faired this year had he not been injured.

    Wharton would have been fine.
