I'm hopeful that Cam will improve his skills and it seems at least to some degree, he's maybe beginning to "get" the whole team issue - not saying he hasn't got a lot of work there too, but at least he doesn't seem to be rejecting any notion he needs to work on the emotional side of it as well as the performance part.

I will say there was a time I really didn't want Smitty on the team due to his attitude, but he won me back over. Always loved his abilities and passion for the game, but the temper was a huge problem/negative. But he can make even a terrible game exciting for even a brief time. I am very happy to have watched his play over the years. Absolutely exciting and awe inspiring. I'd love to look back and see how many great plays he enabled with his blocking. I am glad that he & Moose were friends so he could get a good foundation of blocking. I wish all our WR's would aspire to be great blockers. Drives me nuts when they're just watching the play or slowly trotting down the field - get down there and smack someone!

Not that Cam has been without error but i've always felt it was Chud that was in/created the slump.

Even after the success the running game had yesterday he reverted back to being pass happy and we almost did it again.

I do find it annoying that Cam has to play perfect for this team to get a W.
Then I look at the ticker and I see Luck with 3 TD's/3 picks and those ****s still squeek out a win. Hell, the other week Ryan had 5 picks and they still won.

The parts around Cam have got to get better. There are gonna be days when he is off and we have to be good enough to pick up the slack in other areas and right now we arent. With the emergence of guys like Keek and Hardy we may get there but we need more.

well, I certainly wouldn't say "anything deep" he's terrible. He badly missed on Murphy, and that's way off where he usually is deep. He's hit Olsen in stride in consecutive weeks deep.
He has those misses, which suck. Which is why I definitely agree with inconsistent. But, he had an efficient game, and an efficient last couple of weeks. He's not grown that far out of what he was, but it does feel like a better version to a point.

I think he wants to be a QB, to your other point. I think he runs when he must, and he knows those opportunities will be there, but he runs a lot less than I'd have figured this far in.

Agreed... I've had fans of other teams tell me Cam won't last long running like he does. All that tells me is they don't watch our games. There have been times when I'm like run ************ run and he stands in the pocket and either tries to pass or does complete a pass... He runs alot less than I was expecting when we drafted him.

Same here. I've said repeatedly over the year that as far as I'm concerned my main beef with Rivera was allowing that stupid offense to happen for as long as he did (otherwise, btw, I'm not nearly as upset with Rivera as most people are [edit to add: though I would love to see what Kelly could do]).

Cam had awful throws last year too, I don't know that I would consider failure to eliminate them as a slump.

Chudzinski is the only reason people think Cam is a success at all. Newton is extremely limited in terms of what he can do right now, and Chudzinski has continuously played to those strengths while avoiding his weaknesses.

Which is what he should be doing. I don't think he adjusted early enough though, and that's a nice way of putting it.

^ I concur with this part. I would say Celtic and Magnus have had the most accurate analysis of Newton's play.

    exactly.
Which, for that matter, when Cam does run, he doesn't seem to give a very hittable target for a guy who runs upright like he does. That and sheer size doesn't hurt, either.
