It would be hard to make that move with Beason being the leader of the defense and Kuechly being a rookie. Might happen next year, though. It also makes me want to try more 3-4 looks if the team could ever find a legit nose tackle.

NO!! Beason isn't worth shit at WLB. It would be bad for defense on the whole.

Let me put it like this. I'd rather get rid of Beason if I were hell bent on moving Keuchly to MLB than move Beason outside.

Edwards might be ok doing that, but I don't think he holds up for 16 games.

I actually think Johnson and Hardy would be ok as 3-4 DE's. Hardy especially.

Davis showed me last night he might still have the speed and explosiveness to be a 3-4 OLB, also provided he could stay healthy. No idea who would go on the other side, I'd guess Keiser or Applewhite. Which of course makes Anderson the odd man out in that front.

I believe beason was more of a 4.7-4.8 guy coming out...I really prefer him in the middle and think kuechly will be more than fine on the outside. Let's hope so.

Headcase has been trying to sell this move since Connor's rookie year.

I don't like Beason outside and neither does he. Kuechly's doing just fine where he is, to boot (Phillips has been playing middle), so while the move might make him a little better, it'll make Beason and the overall defense worse IMO.

team has enough nose tackle for this system, 3-4 or 4-3. It's the other tackle that's the issue, and if they were going to go fulltime 3-4, the idea would need to be getting an outside rusher.

LK looks good but a healthy Beason is the better mike. The thing is IMO 52 isnt gonna be back to 100% anytime soon. I say if Beason can play he starts and LK backs him up, he is the best alternative to beason so the play at MLB doesnt drop off as much when beason needs a rest. The mike is the most important guy on the d, its good to have a vet and a capable young guy.

Our first rounder looks too good to be sitting on the bench.

Yeah, he's adequate at weakside. It's just frustrating because he plays so well when he slides inside for the short yardage package.
