    Funny how Smith had nothing to say about the defense's role in winning football games.


    I will be interesting to see how that offense does this year. The were dogmatic about running the ball last year, and did have a few weapons with Vernon Davis and Crabtree. Now you add Randy, Mario Manningham, LaMichael James, ...all that remains is for the trigger man to get everybody the ball. Good luck, Alex.

    It's a valid point. Tom Brady went 14-2 in 2010 while throwing for under 4,000 yards. His numbers only went up last year because their defense was terrible.

    I still prefer Cam, and we've seen what Alex Smith has done when that defense wasn't elite and he didn't have Harbaugh, so whatever.

    Valid point yes but Alex Smith needs to keep Cam outta this. Alex was clearly aggrevated by the reporter's question and ran his mouth.

    Alex Smith didn't even have a 300 yard game until his fourth year in the league, and those Niner teams had plenty of games where they needed to go no huddle and try to get back in the game.
