imagine it'd only be a short term deal (1-2 years max) as there are younger guys they like on the roster that fulfill his roles

not a bad option however as Gettis insurance.

had 1 reception for 20+ yards and 1 big punt return against us last year.

Didnt really get targeted much tho in the Texans system. Lotsa dump offs to the TE's, FB's and RB's in that system.

We need better debth at WR in case of injury, adds even more debth to special teams too as both a kick and punt returner.

Who else out there in FA other than Gaffney?

    From ESPN....

Our last update on the Jacoby Jones sweepstakes -- such as it is -- was that the former Houston Texans wide receiver had visited with the Carolina Panthers, and the speculation was rampant that the Cleveland Browns should be interested. We've yet to hear anything to substantiate actual interest, however.

Nevertheless, Jones is attracting attention elsewhere. According to the FOX affiliate in Houston, Jones met with the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, and league sources have revealed to the station that the WR has multiple offers on the proverbial table.

The irony of Jones signing with the Ravens is not lost on those who remember the playoff game between Houston and Baltimore last season: it was Jones' miscue that got the Texans off on the wrong foot in that contest, and the Ravens would go on to win thereafter. In spite of that mental blunder, Jones can offer an upgrade in the return game to some teams, and ESPN AFC North blogger Jamison Hensley believes that the Ravens are such a team.
