I'll be official, drafting Coples scares me. Maybe only seeing him playing inside in college didn't show what he could do on the outside like I am assuming he'll do at end where I assume he'll play for the Panthers. Maybe he'll end up like Cam who alot of us didn't like but hoped for the best when they drafted him. I think I remember Peppers had a lot of the same negatives labeled on him when he came out.

Best case we either trade down and get picks or we take take Stephon Gilmore at 9 who I am warming up to alot the more I hear about him.

Hopefully someone ahead of the Panthers drafts Coples. Maybe Jacksonville.

    Worst case we draft Poe

You don't get a lot of superstars at #9, so while I understand the Peppers comparisons, we should really squash those as much as possible. Coples isn't Peppers. He isn't as athletic as Peppers, as strong as Peppers, or as potentially dominant as Peppers. Quinton is a pretty good defensive end who has good hands and should be an effective pass rusher while at least solid against the run. That's "good enough" for #9. It would be awesome if a multiple Pro Bowl player was available, but the Panthers aren't picking high enough for that. The most important thing to do tonight is get a guy who will make both an immediate and a long-term impact on the team.

If I can't make lazy comparisons based on where a player went to college how the fuck am I supposed to find someone I like in the draft?

Mayock's mock draft has us taking DT Fletcher Cox with the 9th pick. The guesses are all over the place...

Best case scenario Kalil slides down. Worst case scenario we trade up and get someone we could've had, if we had stayed at 9.

This is the Panthers you know.

Worst case Coples-if they do draft him i hope theyre seeing something I dont. Disappearing vs ACC talent doesnt bode well for an nfl career.

Best case Blackmon, Kalil or Claibourne fall to us.

Kuekley and FLoyd to me are better than Cox and Gilmore. I think the latter of the two are solid players. I think Kuekley and Floyd can potentially be pro bowlers.

Did I mention I'm in football player love with Floyd? He's a beast, and will be a great, great pro.

I would be nutting for Kuekley if it weren't for Beason....Beason's an average backer on the outside...
