There has been a lot of buzz about him and some say that he could be on par if not better than Blackmon. His draft stock has risen and alot of projecttions have the Panthers taking him at #9, then picking up a DT in the second round.

I actually love this move. I think that we can get a solid deep threat and pick up depth and a value at DT in the second.

you could do the same at WR or CB in the 2nd. i'd love to have a solid deep threat but not sure Floyd is all that. the Baylor WR would probably be a better deep threat if you want to reach for a WR in the 1st.

He's a little bit of a fuckhead, though. At least from an outsiders perspective.

It's not my first choice, but I'd be ok with that. One of the three between Worthy/Still/Reyes should be there when we draft in the second round.

I didn't see the sports science on him...but I heard that he has better seperation the Blackmon and can catch the ball in the air just as well. And I DON"T think you can get equal value in the second and thrid round. I think this is a weak WR class.

As far as his being a "fuckhead"....there are a lot of fuckheads in this draft. This guy can play and I would love to have a complement to Steve Smith finally.

i'm with you on the want. it's my biggest beef with Hurney that he's never seemed to value the WR position ... or maybe he's just scared to death of the risk. watching youtube, i love blackmon. neither wright or floyd knocked my socks off. i'm reading that blackmon comes across as the bigger headcase of the two (so you have to love him, right?), and that Floyd is amazing blocker. i'd be okay with the pick, but he's not my first choice at WR. the WRs from GA and LSU might be there at 2 and both would be good fits for us.

    • With a sizzling workout last week, Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd may have thrust himself into the top 10. Certainly into the top 12. Some pundits even feel that Floyd -- whose explosion off the line is deemed exceptional, as is his burst into and out of his cuts -- could be the equal of Oklahoma State Justin Blackmon.

But the ascent of Floyd has also sent league scouts on an extended fact-finding mission about his background, which includes multiple DUI's, and past attitude problems.

"He's one of the most studied guys in the whole draft, in terms of background," an area scout from one interested AFC franchise told The Sports Xchange. "No doubt he's a playmaker. But people want to be extra sure he's not a troublemaker, too."

It appears that Floyd, who has been very popular on the individual visit circuit, has been extremely candid about past indiscretions. But teams are doing a lot of digging beyond his admissions.

Made it no secret for a while, he's who I'd prefer we draft at 9.
