Again not against a McDermott change. Guy has a lot of redeeming qualities but not a fan of how we executed down the stretch. Apparently, Meeks falls because of it. Which is fine.

I don't know that I want Wilks as DC over McDermott, specifically. If McDermott quit, for instance, or was fired and we wanted an in-house candidate, he's definitely the guy because the others have no real pro experience.

If I had to make the one change, it'd still be Murphy out for Taub, who's not under contract with Chicago and is interviewing as head coach for Miami.

do also want an assistant DBs coach, and would be happy to have Cris Dishman follow Wilks if he were willing. That guy should be a position coach soon.

You definitely get a sense players will play harder for Wilks... getting love from players whom he's coached... not really the feeling we were getting from McDermott coming in

Rivera said he couldn't hire him last year unless they made him DC, he had already been named assist HC, but they had already hired McDermott... as if to say damn...

I think if they had not moved on McDermott, Wilks was going to be the guy

Dishman... wasn't he an Oiler? Hell yeah that guy could play same damn football

    yeah, same guy

had not read about Wilks not leaving if he wasn't going to be DC. Knew we tried to go get him.

You can't leave any contract with another team for anything less than a head coaching position. It used to be that assistants could leave to become coordinators, but that hasn't been true for a while. The team has to give permission for an assistant to interview for a "lateral" position.

And Purrsecutioner's ongoing fetish with McDermott is amusing. It started before last season, and not because Purr has any idea what kind of defense McDermott runs or what kind of coach he is. Purr just saw Andy Reid's decision to fire him and decided that means he sucks.

has to be a promotion, the Panthers could have gone after Wilks last season if they offered him a DC position... or, if he was not the Assist HC in San Diego, they could have offered him a position as Secondary Coach & Assist HC.

Chud can only be offered a position as HC because he is already the Assist HC here

Learn a little about football outside of fantasy stats before you bring me up. If you can't do that, shut the fuck up. You're a better read when you're carrying on being joyfully emasculated like you've been doing for a while.

Has there been any indication that we're looking at Dishman?

And as for your, if we had to change one coordinator position, you'd go with Toub, that's hard to argue right there.

Someone please refresh my memory: didn't we have a real shot at Toub last year, we just opted not to wait?

Christ, I'd love it if the team brought him in on the staff. Not a Murphy fan at all, but then again, I must've just read where the Vikings weren't going to retain him and made my decision based off of that. :p
