Correct, PPG is the most important factor. There are other variables to consider as well, TO margin, sacks, 4th down %, TDs the defense scores, etc.

They're well below average in both points allowed and yards allowed. Stop making yourself look any more stupid than you already have.

They are below average, not well below average as you state, but that is strictly opinion and can vary from person to person since there isn't an exact of either regardless of ranking. I do promise you, I am not the person you want to get into one of your childish berating episodes with.

22nd in points and yards allowed coming into this weekend, and then this happened : http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/boxscore?gid=20111218007 So yeah, well below average. They're not as bad as the Panthers, but they're definitely bad. Von Miller is a beast and they have some other guys who can make plays, but overall as a unit they're not good at all.

I posted a breakdown above which I am sure a person as smart as you would be able to understand. If you can't understand some of the reasons for differences for the defense with Orton as QB vs Tebow as QB than I don't know what to tell you.

You were the one standing on an 8 yard difference between Carolina and Denver when there is a lot more to look at than that. I am sure the measuring stick will be set where you want it to be for your needs.

I am just letting you know there is no need for the insults, as I didn't feel the needs to make those towards you as if it will validate any comments made.

The defensive personnel and scheme didn't change. The stats improved after Tebow because Tebow wasn't turning the ball over and he was keeping the defense on the sidelines longer. But they were still well below average, as the Detroit game, the Minnesota game, and today's game all proved. They suck. Again, not as much as the Carolina defense sucks, but they still suck. Only people who want to discount Tebow pretend that the Denver defense doesn't suck, but the statistics prove conclusively that they really do.

I have no idea how that is an explanation for this: "I do promise you, I am not the person you want to get into one of your childish berating episodes with." But whatever.

Have you seen me discount Tebow? You could take the best defense and keep them on the field longer and their statistics are going to be worse, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

I understand you like to argue and get into the berating and derogatory episodes with everybody on this board, just stating I am not the one for that. If you can't scroll up and see where you did that, I don't know what to tell you. I can't sit there in front of your PC and read it to you.

Prior to the Sunday games, Denver was 5th in sacks, 3rd in scoring by the defense and 8th in 3rd down % by their opponents. But hell, lets not count that for this argument.

If you don't think the 4 point difference in PPG on average for a defense prior to Sundays games is a big deal, I don't know what to tell you. The Panthers would be 7-7 if they held their opponents to 4 less PPG. If the Broncos gave up 4 more PPG on average their record would be 3-10-1.

So you no longer win or lose games based on points? How many times do I have to point out that Denver was 22nd in points and yards allowed coming into this weekend before your brain stirs and you shut the fuck up? They are a well below average defense. You thought they weren't, and now you know better. It's not a big deal, so just let it go.

When you make comments like this you come across as illiterate. How many times in this thread have I repeatedly made the point that Carolina's defense is worse than Denver's? It's just not as drastic a difference as some Tebow bashers want to pretend.

its shit like this that makes me love Smitty. The dude gives you what he truly thinks, and doesnt apologize for it. Its refreshing compared to all the prefabricated, defensive bullshit that predominates the league.
