The Packers reinforce how important it is to have a good QB. Their receivers and backs are not really anything special. They have some good players around Rodger but nothing spectacular. The same has been true for Brady for most of his career. He has Moss for a while but most of the time he has had "B" players around him. None of the guys around Drew Brees are really spectacular either.

I just hope Cam can reach that level one day.

They have a tremendous receiving corps. Arguably the best

oh boy . .. there's a guy who frequents this board who is going to blow a gasket. Brees and Rodgers are good QBs Thelt but it's their OCs and FOs who have made them Great QBs. Both guys have been surrounding with above average players and schemes that accentuate everybody's talents and skills. Trust me, those two would NOT be considered anywhere near HOF caliber if either had been drafted by Carolina and chose to stay in a panther uni

Sproles is an upgrade over Bush for that 3rd down back role, and I think Peyton knows how to use him. 259 Total Yards.

I thought Ingram was tenative in his runs. I'm suprised they gave him so many carries in his first NFL game, and didn't give more to the more experienced Thomas. But beyond Sproles, I don't know if either of the others is truly special in ability. Good power backs, sure, Thomas is a pro. But those are a dime a dozen.

In general though, the Pack dominated on 3rd and 4th and short when the Saints tried to run. The only third and shorts the Saints converted was when they passed.

Jennings is good but not elite. The rest are fairly average. I doubt any of them would look very good on a mediocre team. Guys like Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald are the really elite WRs because they put up numbers even with weak QBs.

If you put Aaron Rodgers on this Team Steve Smith would go back to looking like did in 2005 and the other guys would all put up decent numbers.

I seem to recall the Matt Flynn looking pretty good with those average receivers.

Interesting take. I didn't really think he was timid, just didn't have a lot of room to run. The Saints only ran it 21 times while they threw it for 49. At halftime they were far behind in the time of possession battle. Partly due to the fact that they couldn't get GB off the field and partly due to the turnover. So they wound up having to throw it more but my point is that Peyton has a stable of backs, he should establish the run early. Ingram wound up with 13 carries. Still, I think Peyton needs to get him 20 carries a game to really be effective.
