Headed out to CMS this afternoon to check out the 2011 Food Lion Auto Show . . . . Hmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder how much the gas mileage is on ‘The Tumbler’ from the Batman movie ? ? 3mpg ? ? ?

 

ECU Pirates vs. USC Gamecocks (9/4/11)

It was nice to see a college football game live and in person again Saturday nite . . . Tons of ECU & USC fans in the QC to see the kickoff of the college football season here in the Carolinas (about 58,000 was at the game) . . . . Pirates jumped out to an early lead, but it was all Gamecocks from the 2nd quarter on . . . Uptown was buzzing big time with tailgaiting parties all over the place before the game . . . USC fans (who probably played their first game in CLT in a long time I think) Im sure enjoyed what Uptown had to offer !!!!

Headed to the Yiasou Greek Festival this afternoon over in the Dilworth area of Charlotte . . . The local Greek Orthodox Churck/Local Greek community puts on an awesome street festival every year highlighting Greek food & culture. Im sure its one of the better Greek festivals in the country !!

VCC Blue & Gold Day (9/10/11)

Headed out to Victory Christian Center today for their annual Blue & Gold Day; Its a combination Family Day & fundraiser for their athletic program. There were lots of things to do for the kids, food, a classic car show, food, an exhibit on the history of the church, food, petting zoo for kids . . . Did I mention there was lots of food there ? ? ? ?

After leaving the VCC Blue & Gold Day, it was time to head off to another festival here in the QC; Time Warner Cable BBQ & Blues Festival move to the NC Music Factory complex in the NW corner of Uptown this year for their yearly bbq & music festival from their previous Uptown location. It was much better than I expected (after encountering a little traffic getting into the facility to park) . . . Too bad I couldn't stick around for the Buddy Guy concert later on tonight . . . There was a lot of food & cold beverages to choose from at the Festival; Im sure my doctor wouldve hated a lot of things that were on sale today !!!!!!
