Richard Marshall was a nice looking player in 2008 and '09, but had a horrid 2010, from bad coverage to 15 missed tackles

Asante Samuel has to be considered an option for Carolina given his background with DC Sean McDermott.

At 30 years old, Asante is probably not the greatest fit. Although a game changer in the int department, he gambles an awful lot, and looks like a little girl when it comes to supporting the run. Oh, and there are whispers he wants a new deal. The Eagles aren't going to let him go cheap, and other teams will be in on the bidding. Antonio Cromartie might be a better option.

Cromartie actually had a really good season in 2010, which surprised me since I was not a big fan. But with Asomugha turning them down, I expect the Jets to re-sign him.

Is Steve aware that Samuel is not a free agent? Just because the Eagles have three high profile corners doesn't mean they'll immediately look to dump one.

Samuel is out of camp right now with an "excused absense" but I don't see the Eagles keeping him at least past this year, and would bet he's moved. Eagles have Joselio Hanson (decent nickel), Trevard Lindley (played ok last year becasue of injuries, and a 4th rd pick in 2010), and Curtis Marsh 3rd round this year as backups. Though AR's philosophy has always been to have stud corners, I don't think he would want that much tied up in the CB position. I'm sure their ears are open to trade talks. The way the NFL has become a pass first league it makes sense, but if they could get a high pick or better yet a LB or OT for this year (casey mathews is currently the #1 at MLB, ugh), I think they'd have to do it.
