LOTS OF TALK PRE-DRAFT ABOUT TAKING ONE, damn cap locks/laziness.. anyway, thinking they think Shockey is enough while they sort out the other three clowns and see what they have with them.. basically, I'm bored and wanted to start a thread.. go back to sleep.

Barnidge may fit ok. He has to bother showing up though. One oc the other two, or similar vet, backs Shockey. My guess anyway.

so do you bitches see this when I post?

anyway, PFF has Shockey with 70 targets, 45 rec/2 TD, and Barnidge as 22/15. Those are their 2011 projections, but I doubt Barnidge is the #2.

    Rosario.

With some frickin' sophistication and emphasis on the passing game, of course. It's time the Panthers kill softly with their tight ends...just like everybody else has been doing to them for the past ten years.

The more interesting question is if Chud will go to two TE sets, which would not only make Fiammetta less relevant, but raise some potential issues with our running backs given that it would be a very different blocking scheme than they're used to.

Norv used more two back sets than anyone. The Chargers did attempt to make upgrades at TE for 2010 but I imagine WR issues trumped that. That does raise a good point, but I don't think we'll upgrade the backup spot right now - wish we had done that middle rounds of the draft.

With San Diego? I know he did in previous stops, but I thought the Chargers used a lot of two TE without a fullback. They never really replaced Lorenzo Neal (one of the main reasons LT's numbers went down), and the Hester at FB experiment hasn't worked.

    edit:
Evidently Pat Yasinskas already wrote about this: http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcsouth/post/_/id/20835/look-for-more-two-te-sets-in-nfc-south In the article he also states that SD used the second most two TE sets in the league last season. Carolina ranked third, which is shocking, but I'm guessing a lot of that was 2 TE and a fullback since our WRs were shit anyway.

the quoted stat was from SNF against Indy, so I probably should qualify that. It really has no context. Where was the 2TE stat from? The yas article or something else? Surprised to see Yas write something worthwhile.

Totally agree on Neal. I do hold out hope for Fiammetta, but the best fullbacks have age almost universally, which is logically improbable from a physical standpoint.
