What? You're saying that Richardson was responsible for roster moves in 2000 as well? I honestly don't remember you ever suggesting it then. We know that Richardson pushed for Gilbert before '97, and we know that he soured on Peppers. Aside from that I have never heard of anything credible that he went to the GM and said "we're going to do _______." There's just absolutely nothing that would ever suggest that. You keep hanging your hat on words that fit just as well with an owner endorsing his GM's plan.

When Fox was running things, he didn't go to JR, he went to Hurney. Once Fox fell out of favor, Hurney relied on the team's scouts for personnel evaluation. But the idea that Hurney isn't responsible for anything really makes it look like you're trying to make excuses for all his mistakes. There's just nothing in reality that supports that view. Hurney is a general manager, not a secretary. If Richardson was being Jerry Jones we would have heard about it, and frankly I don't believe his health is even capable of handling that at this point. As I keep saying, Richardson runs the team like a CEO, which does not mean he's doing the work himself.

nothing suggests that JR had a hand in 2001? So you think George Seifert just went out of his way to take on a ton of young guys when he's never wanted young guys? JR went specifically on record as saying he wanted to change the style of football for the NFCS.
This is common knowledge. Just as it's common knowledge that Hurney doesn't even evaluate talent, so he's clearly no mastermind. I believe you yourself have argued that Fox didn't want to fire Henning, and Hurney doesn't have control over staff.

Well, that's certainly not true, I never once said that. There are definitely things Hurney's reponsible for. That doesn't make him some 'mastermind' of a youth movement that JR directly quarreled with our coach over.

which, of course, is a reference to what the fans say about Marty Hurney's decisions.

It's just idiotic to suggest that Seifert would have stayed on if he was being forced to take players against his will. He would have quit. You're just making up nonsense to justify your assertion that Richardson is some kind of behind-the-scenes Jerry Jones making all the decisions about the franchise. It's stupid, and you just keep making more outlandish claims to avoid acknowledging that what you initially said was simply wrong.

And you think Richardson spends hours a day watching film? Come on, this is just embarrassing. Stop making yourself look stupid because you don't want to back off something you said that was wrong.

Uh ... of course Hurney has control over staff. He's the GM.

Yes, that's exactly what you're doing. You're saying that 2010 was all Richardson, that Hurney didn't agree with it but couldn't do anything about it, and therefore he takes none of the blame.

Easy to put words in someone else's mouth, and apparently easy to write off anything that disagrees. For instance, JR saying himself that he changed the plans in 2001 for the upcoming NFC South realignment. Saying himself the same this past year.
Pretending that he's passive in his own team after firing his sons. Pretending he's been passive all these years just because he's not Jerry Jones. Just write all of it off or pretend it doesn't exist. Write off interviews you haven't heard. Why bother arguing about the things that happened over the last sixteen years?

I mean, I get that you can't stand Hurney, so there's a want to blame him. I didn't absolve him, even if you have to pretend I did - 2011's failure was as much in the execution as it was the plan.

I agree. When you go back and look at the Giant's game. We led the game going into the half. Moore had a TD pass to Smith. After the Giant's came out, they punished Moore and knocked him out of the game.
