Heard the entire interview on the way to work. He didn't come off as anything but professional, and mentioned that he has the playbook, and spend a good bit of time with Chud and Shula. Said Hurney knocked on the door during their meeting and told Cam he had to leave because of the lockout being back on.

Cam's going to talk, no doubt.

No one argues that he is not charismatic. In fact, that's one of the things evryone seems to agree on. So, it doesn't shock me that he comes across as being good as gold.

This did stick out to me:
“A lot of people look at my game and say, ‘He likes to run.’ Well, obviously, I want to move the football,” Newton said. “I go through my whole progression. It’s not that I sit back there and get anxious and I run.”

My understanding of the offense Auburn ran last season was that Newton had a primary and if he wasn't open Newton was to run it. A "Read-and-Flee" offense. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression he had only one read each play.

He came off as really chippy in that part of the interview, but I am not sure that is a bad thing.

Yea, it was a "one read" passing attack. He's going to need to learn how to do a fuckton more that he has. But, in terms of his attitude, I'm not yet to a point of concern. Let's work on the football aspect, and then, if he turns into a complete headcase on the field, then, hey, at least we'll get a new GM in 3-4 years:cool3:

Its not like he never went through any progressions at Auburn. Look at the last drive vs Alabama. The last touchdown throw was not his primary receiver by any means.

I like the attitude. Kids gonna have something to prove, and right now he has a chip on his shoulder and the Panthers are currently his "best friend". So there's no ill will there. Because of that he may want to prove his value to the rest of the league.
