Brandon Burton high ranked CB still there.

    Virgil Green an athletic TE

What about taking Tyrod Taylor as a potential backup to Newton if he develops. Would allow us to keep the same system/plays if newton misses time.

    DJ Williams maybe?
O-line depth may be better value however

Separation Skills 2 Crafty route runner that can separate from underneath man coverage. Uses hesitation move to slip press coverage. Quicker than fast and tempos his breaks well. Runs crisp out routes. Can run away from linebackers and sub-package defensive backs on drag routes. Finds space and can negotiate the middle of the field working against underneath zone coverage. Lacks elite explosiveness. Takes a split second too long to regain momentum on in-and-out routes and double moves.

Ball Skills 3 Catches ball with hands away from frame. Can extend arms and snatch passes thrown above head out of the air. Ball security an issue and can fumble after the catch.

Big play ability 4 Can produce after the catch. Built like a running back and played there for first two seasons at Hawaii. Lacks ideal vision but quick feet and can make first defender miss. Balanced runner that runs low to the ground and can bounce off would-be arm tackles but lacks the breakaway speed to run away from defenses when gets a seam. While appears faster than the timed speed we have on him not a burner and doesn't project as a vertical threat at the next level.

Competitiveness/ Toughness 2 Not afraid to go over the middle. Can hold onto the ball after taking a big hit. Runs hard and fights for yards after contact. Willing to get into position and flashes a strong stab as a blocker. Could do a better job of selling routes on running plays.

Kealoha Pilares, wide receiver, 5-10, 200 pounds, Hawaii
A lot of draftniks are touting Greg Salas as a steal in this draft, but I like his teammate Pilares better. Salas is bigger (6-1) and is coming off a ridiculous season (119 receptions) but Pilares could be a more versatile weapon for the right NFL team.

Pilares was a running back in high school, but he became a slot receiver in college. Last season he caught 88 passes, 15 for touchdowns. I would use him as a third down back. He does not have blazing speed (4.6) and that would limit him as a wide receiver, but he is quick and elusive with sure hands, good traits for catching the ball out of the backfield.

Figures to be drafted: Seventh round.

I didn't want to go WR, but Pilares is fine. He makes a lot of sense as a Smith type WR, more quick than fast, more slot than outside.
