    On one hand, I find it very disturbing that the players can strike, and that the owners cannot do anything to change their circumstances. Highly disturbing.

    If this holds, this means we are paying a sure billion dollars or so to our first pick.

    Owners want a stay of the ruling until the appeal. I think the appeal will overturn the ruling. Just based on some articles I've read, but I'm damn sure not a lawyer. Has no effect on the draft in any case.

    Judge did not mandate a stay. NFL has already requested a stay, which she will rule on next. Most of the legal eagles have guessed that since she didn't put the stay in her ruling, she's gonna deny that. If so, NFL appeals the denial of a stay to the 8th appealate court. If that's denied, free agency starts.
