better off signing him after he gets cut if he is the guy you want. I am not big on either him or Newton but the guy does make a good point in the article.

How can you make this statement when one of them has yet to play a down of pro ball?

I wouldn't freak if we signed Young. I'm not thrilled with it, but I'd withhold judgement.

Fisher never liked him. Was never his guy, apparently, though that's just what I read, and who knows. But I know Fisher got his dick sucked by the media a lot, and I think he was a lot like Fox. An average guy who commanded respect, but not a lot of production once a great core left.

A lot of players had Young's back. I'm not advocating this whatsoever. But I'd wait and see I guess, like everyone else, and not cry about it.

    I would.

I may be wrong but I thought the opposite.

Well, the Panthers wouldn't touch him, so it's a moot point.

The article would have merit if Young wasnt a douchebag nutcase.

As it stands its a waste of a 5th rounder.

The same way all the experts and scouts say Newton is a potential #1 overall pick. He has a body of work to look at. Young was just as highly regarded when he came out of college as Newton is now.

They really are very similar. Both will require an offense crafted to suit their talents, both are capable passers but struggle with accuracy and anticipation, and both have question marks about their character. Young has the experience and has proven that he can win games in the NFL, while Newton has handled adversity much better.

Personally I would prefer a more traditional QB who can make a lot of plays with his arm from the pocket. Mobility is nice but I would rather see a guy who uses it to buy time to make a play with his arm than a guy who looks to run the ball a lot.
