    It looks to be a bit more than that:

    Base Salary - $3,000,000
    Base Guaranteed - $1,000,000
    Roster Bonus - $812,500
    Total - $3,812,500 with roughly $1,812,500 guaranteed no matter what (depending on what date the roster bonus triggers)

    This tells me 2 things:

    1 - Rivera wasn't fucking around when he said we need a threat at TE.

    2 - Rivera WILL NOT fuck around about finding a franchise QB.

    $4 mil really still isn't a bad bargain.

    Second contract I've seen with guaranteed 2011 salary. I know the NFL's been fighting guarantees for a long time.

    Shockey is a nice upgrade on what we have at TE. He is a much better receiver than our other guys. If he can stay healthy he should help out a lot. That is only the case if we get a decent QB. If we go back with Clausen under center then we are screwed no matter what else happens.
