Cam Newton report

I'd take him in a heartbeat. Clausen blows. I don't think Newton would be a troublemaker, and we have to have another QB, nobody on our roster is any good.

 

We would be foolish to pass on the guy. Period.

That article was good. I don't know enough about qb to have a firm opinion, but I know clausen eats shit.

I'd be happy as hell if we draft him, but I was stoked about clausen, pike, and edwards.

 

My only problem is the spread. And experience. He only has to make one read in the spread.

He's got the arm. He's very accurate as a passer, beats Vick by a mile. Beats Tebow by two, Size, vision, and the running ability is a plus. Even though he played only one year as a starter, I'd take him as a passer over Tebow.

He's a QB. He can run, fast. He's got some shit to figure out.

With Fairley's character issues, and Bowers' injury concerns, I'm beginning to lean Newton in a weak draft.

Dilfer can go fuck Brian Billick in the ass.

 

I can give a shit about Dilfer. There is not s slam dunk player regardless, maybe AJ Green, who I would also be ok with. The others have a limited ceiling, some kind or risk/baggage or both.

Newton might be a bust, sure. I think he is an immediate upgrade over Clausen in the biggest area of need. He is also the most talented player in the draft. With the apathy regarding this team, an electrifying player at the teams most glaring need position is a sound decision.

Newton had a great season. I would draft him hoping he has a great career. It's essential we continue to plug away at this most critical position or we can forget being consistent winners till that issue is resolved. Nick Fairley or DaQuan Bowers are not getting us to the super bowl, but an elite QB might.

 

If we got Newton, wouldn't that make keeping Smitty more important? Who else can rearrange Newton's face if he gets out of line?

 

I think people often look at Newton as a way to get past Clausen, which isn't a reason to do anything.

 

vick was 10th in the league in passing %. I think its too early to say Vick 2.0 isn't a different player.

If Newton was Vince Young without the little pussy attitude, he'd probably be the best qb the Panthers have ever had. If he's Ben with a little more speed...watchout now. It's going to be interesting seeing his stock go up or down from now till the draft.
