what does it mean? very little. He impressed the media, most of which want exciting more than good, most of which have no idea what O their team runs, or what a spread offense is. Pro scouts aren't allowed and weren't there. Nobody to ask why he had to look back at Malzahn after the defense set.

hype on players doesn't mount for a bit. If you're lucky, you'll peak at the right time like Rivers, who I'm still uncertain on how he pulled off going top 5 when he was the 3rd best QB in that draft. And that's with hindsight and me turning around on him a good bit. If Newton is peaking now, he's gotta weather three months of hoping neither he nor his father fucks this up.

On NFL Network there was a former scout who gave him an A-. Mayock reminds everyone that the best workout he has seen was Jamarcus Russell.

Unless a team is desperate and sees something in him, I doubt A- gets you in the top 5.

Surprised he worked out for the media. Not sure if I have heard of this before, usually workouts are for the scouts and media attend, right? Great pr move as everyone is talking about him.

I'd call us desperate, so I'm a little worried.

we need a player that start 16 games and make an impact with the 1st pick... Cam is not that guy

if he's there in the 2nd... oh wait

Can't work out for teams until after combine, this was merely a hype builder

"Auburn quarterback Cam Newton held a 45-minute workout just for the media on Thursday, and looked impressive according to those in attendance. ..."

A workout for the media?
