Oh jeez. Ben played like shit in that Super Bowl, but they were there in large part because of him. Eli isn't his brother, but the dude has had less than 3,000 yards and 20 TD in a season once. his rookie season.

Made it to the Super Bowl and lost? No thanks. I was in Reliant Stadium that night and the feelin I had was a million times worse than the way i feel right now..after a 2-12 season and then Luck going back to school.

551, finding that guy in later rounds takes an enormous amount of luck. the patriots are the luckiest franchise in the history of the NFL because of #12. You can find a guy with certain physical skills, but you really don't know what you have until the live bullets start flying on Sundays.

He could be a "diamond in the rough"...or, OTOH, he could be another Jimmy Clausen:

I wasn't there, but of course I watched...no way I'd ever want to experience that again. Shit, who in his right mind would advocate a team having as its development plan "making it to the super bowl and losing"? :rifle:

Well, if not one sort of Luck, than maybe another, right? :mdrbig:

6'1"??? Everywhere I see Dalton listed he's 6"3". In watching TCU he has never looked any shorter than the 6'3" 6'4" range . .. definitely a taller QB, unlike lil' Jimmy C . . . he has often looked like a smaller QB

Yeah, if you read some of the comments attached to that link, there were a whole helluva lot of 'em disputing the 6'1" height claim, and they seemed pretty believable. I mean, who're ya gonna believe: some two-bit draft "analyst" or your own lyin' eyes?

    Still...could he be any good?

Anyway, I was just quoting...you know, as in "we report...you decide". :15:

Monday nights game may answer some questions on who to draft. I've only seen Newton once but damn he was impressive then if he looks that good again I would take a shot with him. It's all a crap shoot anyway but unless Carolina gets a good QB all the other positions will mean nothing.
