I do not think many want to use a high draft pick for depth and to come out in a 4 and 5 WR set.

I didn't realize by listing WR as the 3rd highest need outside of QB I was advising using a high pick.

that's the thing. We keep getting linked to Green, who's the rated #1. And Collin loves the other guy that might be top 10, which is fine. But we have youth there and we did somewhat well with it. A 4th young WR on a team that may or may not keep 4? I dunno.

and no, I don't think you trade Smith to make room for a top 5 WR pick, either. That sounds like a disaster, and we're trying to overcome one already.

Agree on DT, absolutely. CB, we can get a guy in 3 if needed, unless we're running an aggressive blitz scheme like McDermott's, then I could also see Amukamara.

I am not in favor of trading Smith either. I just mentioned it since there is seems to be some sentiment for WR being a need. I just do not see it. Our top three guys are solid and two of them are young. We still have Edwards as well who might still develop into a decent WR.

For all the criticism of the OL I think Gross, Wharton, Kalil, Schwartz, Otah is pretty solid assuming Otah is ever able to play again. The offense as a whole is pretty solid but for a QB.

I go back and forth about Green and Peterson. I prefer Green because he is nearly flawless, but Peterson has a few minor things that bother me a little. First, he gets cramps. Could be a symptom of a bigger problem. Second, his size says, "Move me to safety!" Third, part of his value is because he is a double threat (punt returner). I would not use a starting CB returning kicks and punts.

Why we SHOULD draft him: Gamble is getting old, Marshall is gone. 7th rounders are all we have left. If we don't pick up a cb now, we could have 2 rookies out there when Gamble loses a step.

Gamble will be 28 when next season starts. He should have a few more good years left. You can never have too many good corners, especially when you fave Brees twice per year but I do not see it as a big need area.
