He's got 6.5 million reasons to be just fine. He's also a good person who I'm sure another team will hire in some capacity eventually. However as for his being a head coach again, his numbers don't lie. He only had 3 winning seasons in 9 years, you just can't sugarcoat that.

As for "so many here unhappy to see him go, and DAMN sure he'd land on his feet". Obviously his supporters were thinking with their heart and not their brain.

 

Sugarcoating is probably not necessary.

Don't mistake me as a fanboy, I'm glad it's over, but he's not finished. edit: at least I don't think he is.

 

Pitt job is open, and he spent time there. I'm surprised he wouldn't put in for it, but Sunseri is, and his kid's QB there. Those are good reasons to back off.

He could very well go help out with the Saints, to fuck us. That wouldn't be good.

 

He doesn't want to coach Pitt, bigger plans.

You're probably right about the Saints thing, that could be his fallback. But he can't fuck us if his players can't. To be determined.
